Cactus Monday (#88)

Senita a la Paul Klee

Yes, I've done it again, and will continue doing this as I am having such fun. There are so many wonderful artists to research, but I wonder what they would've said if they had seen my little Senita depicted in all their fine works. Tee hee.

Happy Cactus Monday to all my fine friendly foxy fellow cactuteers.

Yippppeeee- another sale

This piece was one of my first that I ever did. I copied this from an original that I bought in Cape Town about 20 years ago, and that I love. It hangs here in my own lounge above the tv.

"When the apartheid government swooped on District Six, Cape Town in 1965, forcibly removing its occupants and declaring the area a "whites-only" zone, the rich fabric of an impoverished but vibrant community was torn to shreds.
Over 60 000 people were wrenched from their homes, livelihoods, community centres and societal networks, and relocated to the bleak plains of the Cape Flats, several kilometres away."

I liked the energy and hope in this drawing: the mother and her children walking forward towards Table Mountain (and possibly away from the strife behind them).

I feel such gratitude when one of my paintings is sold. It warms my heart and thrills me to my very toes!I am so thrilled that it is now going to a new home (and in South Africa too).

The past 4 months have flown by in a blur.
A wonderfully happy blur of ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).
A blur of making and trading over 200 cards and meeting so many lovely people from all over the World: Canada, Australia, the Phillipines, Malaysia. Japan, India, Singapore, Cyprus, China, Norway,England, Scotland, Europe, and mostly America. The cards above are some of the hundreds I have made.

Inspire me Thursday (#54) Dark

I love using dark with light. The dark makes the light look lighter, and the light makes the dark look darker.
(Another one of my Picasso-esque pieces.)

Thankful Thursday (#20)

My ATC trades just keep pouring in.
Feast your eyes on these many pieces of unique and fabulous art.
I feel so thankful that Lolo started me on this journey and that I joined ATCSforALL, as I have met some wonderful people. (howdy Cat and Shana).
