As I had my pencil out for my IF drawing, I decided to do a quick pencil sketch for CM.I got a call from my headteacher asking me to work fulltime for the next 2 weeks as 6 teachers are stuck overseas and can't get back for the start of a new term tomorrow.
It is very quiet here in England as all airports are still closed, so there is no air traffic overhead. But we have no falling ash here (yet).

Wonderful Cactus....you have captured their "prickly essence" beautifully!
It must be odd to have the skies so empty of planes.... reminiscent of 9/11... here, in SF, we still have quite a few planes flying locally - but there are many stranded passengers waiting to get home....
I hope the ash never comes to you or passes over and disappates quickly. Mother Nature is STILL the most powerful force....

I was wondering if you had fallout. I remember how eerily quiet it was here right after the twin towers fell and all air traffic stopped. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon for everyone up there.

I was wondering how the ash was affecting you and Marianne. Sometimes I love going back to pencil sketching. I find it very cathartic.
