A grafted tree
Just like me.

I found this tree round the corner, and it immediately 'talked' to me.
I am like this tree with two seperate parts that now link together. I am a South African by birth, and lived there for 38 years. I was then 'grafted' on to British soil, and have lived here for 26 years.
This past year I have made contact with three long lost friends from my childhood, and talked to them all on 'skype'.
Although it felt as if we had spoken the previous day, they kept telling me how 'British' I sound and asking me when I was coming 'home'.
I am 'home' I replied. My grafting is complete.

Sweet. Lovely to be home.
I also love that you took Lynn's homeless lady and gave her a good home! xoxo
P.S. I love red too :-).
You must miss South Africa sometimes?
Thanks for your comments on mine. I can never access your blog by clicking on the link- it just tells me the web address doesn't exist, but I know it does, and am here to prove it!
I love your six words. That is a wonderful meme. It's great to hear from long lost friends!
aw there is something so sentimental and complete and incomplete about this lovely post. the past is never the past. that's what it makes me think about.
i got a message that i couldn't get to your blog either, but i clicked again and here i am. blogger is so finicky, without logic. as if i could figure it out even if it were logical!

So glad that you dare happy.
Great words to match a wonderful photo.
Even the pink of the tree is YOU!
Sweet about contact with old friends...and HOME(s) then and now!
Hugs!
Bloom where you are planted, and that you have!!! Gorgeous tree, and gorgeous YOU!
Something a tad bittersweet,,,
But truly, home is where the heart is, and I know your heart is with those babies.
Beautiful tree, just like you.
Love that you gave the bag lady a warm home!
I love the grafted tree and how you interpreted that meaning. I feel like home is wherever I happen to be sleeping at the moment. I used to travel a lot in my younger days. I can be happy anywhere I am grafted I believe. Your thoughts about the homeless were good. we need to be ever mindful of those less fortunate and thankful for the blessings we do have.
